Data Visualization
Data visualization is exactly what it sounds like: the process of placing data into a visual, pictorial or an aesthetic format with the aim of making trends more self-evident. In text based or spreadsheet based data, it is difficult to see trends, correlations or patterns, especially when dealing with large volumes of data. Standard data visualizations include charts, graphs, pie charts, but more advanced data visualization includes heat maps, geo maps and dashboards that users can easily slice, dice and drill into. Filters make the process of data visualization easier and in-memory technology allows specific data to be quickly extracted from a database for analysis.
Using a combination of data visualization and modelling, users can depict trends in the future visually, based on past data.
