Business Plan
A business plan defines a company, it’s goals and provides a map for how the business will reach its goals. It also contains the organizational structure of a business, key roles, and financing. While business plans vary greatly from company to company, they are used strategically: internally to align goals; and externally to allow third parties, including investors, to understand the ins and outs of the business and its risks.
Business plans commonly contain the following pieces of information:
- Overview of economic, financial and human resources
- Product and market outlook
- Organizational structure
- Value proposition
- Customer profile
- Forecasts
A business plan usually includes the following sections:
- Executive summary
- Company description
- Executive profiles
- Products and services
- Market and industry analysis
- Strategy and plan
- Financial plan and forecasts
